About Us

Booklyp is an online lighting store based in the Netherlands. We sell lamps for bedrooms, living rooms, offices and all the smaller corners of a home that usually get forgotten about, along with everyday pieces that quietly pull a room together.

Our Story

The idea behind Booklyp came from something most people notice but rarely do anything about. You can spend months picking furniture, paint and rugs, and then light the whole thing with one harsh ceiling bulb that undoes all of it. Lighting is one of the cheapest ways to change how a space feels, and it is almost always the part that gets left until last.

So we started a shop that treats it as the main event instead of an afterthought.

Booklyp is run from Someren, a quiet town in Noord Brabant, and was officially registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce on 16 June 2025 under KvK number 97508225. The business is a sole proprietorship, which is a polite way of saying it is a small operation. That part is on purpose. Everything listed on the site has been picked out by one person who actually cares whether the shade sits straight, whether the finish looks as good in daylight as it does in a product photo, and whether the switch feels solid under your thumb.

Our registered activity is wholesale in other consumer articles in the non food category, which sounds broad on paper. In practice we have stayed deliberately narrow. Lighting is what we know, and we would rather do one category properly than fill a catalogue with products we cannot say anything honest about.

What We Sell

Table lamps and bedside lamps for softer evenings. Floor lamps that fill the empty corner next to the sofa. Desk lamps for people who work late and would rather not do it under a blue white glare. Pendants and wall lights for kitchens, hallways and reading nooks. Alongside those, a rotating selection of smaller decorative pieces for anyone who likes to change things around a few times a year.

Styles run from warm and classic to clean and modern, because homes rarely stick to one look and neither do we.

How We Work

We keep the range tight and the descriptions honest. If a lamp works better as an accent light than as the main source in a room, we say so on the product page. If something does not hold up in real use, it comes off the site. We would rather lose a sale than talk someone into a lamp that ends up in a cupboard.

Orders are packed carefully, because glass, ceramic and thin metal do not forgive a rushed job.

Where We Are Going

Booklyp is still young. The plan is not to become the biggest lighting store in the country. The plan is to be the one people come back to when they finally get around to fixing that dim hallway, and to keep growing the range one well chosen product at a time.
